                               RESOLUTION NO. 19285
                   
                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY 
                   CLOSURE OF M.L. KING BOULEVARD, BROAD 
                   STREET, AND GEORGIA AVENUE MORE PARTICULARLY 
                   DESCRIBED HEREIN ON MONDAY, JANUARY 20, 1992 
                   FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONDUCTING A MARCH IN 
                   CELEBRATION OF MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.'S 
                   BIRTHDAY, UNDER THE SPONSORSHIP OF THE UNIT 
                   GROUP UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
                   
                                                     
                   
                   
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
       temporary closing of M.L. King Boulevard from the TVA Energy 
       Center at Peeples Street to Market Street, the temporary closing 
       of the westbound lanes of M.L. King Boulevard between Market 
       Street and Broad Street, the temporary closing of the northbound 
       Broad Street between M.L. King Boulevard and 7th Street, and 
       Georgia Avenue between McCallie Avenue and M.L. King Boulevard on 
       Monday, January 20, 1992 from 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. for the 
       purpose of conducting a march under the sponsorship of the Unity 
       Group as part of its Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration 
       provided that the sponsors shall set out and pick up flasher 
       barricades and traffic signs in accordance with the traffic 
       control plan attached hereto and shall provide at all times an 
       access lane for emergency vehicles.
